Quick Start Guide to help patients and care teams monitor their health remotely.

The Challenge

Our client needed to develop a quick start guide to help patients work their way through the setup process

Our Approach

Heartfelt have developed a device to help monitor patients who are at risk of hospitalisation due to their condition. The initial setup of the device may have to be done by the user themselves and requires several steps that could be difficult or confusing depending on their level of technical knowledge.
Once set up, the device is designed to detect symptoms that may lead to hospitalisation early – the patient doesn’t have to do anything, just go about their daily lives, and if warning signs are detected, then the patient’s care team are contacted directly allowing them to advise the patient on corrective actions.
Without this extra feedback loop, patients often end up in hospital as warning signs can go unnoticed. But to get there, patients needed more guidance to ensure they could easily install the system.

The Result

Sanner are experienced with developing instructional materials for a wide range of user groups. We worked with the client team to understand the needs and abilities of the patient population and then used this to inform the design process, developing a quick start guide that was accessible and easy to follow.
The quick start guide is one piece in a system that could be very important to the care of patients with this condition. By developing a guide that simplifies a set of complex steps, we have helped remove another barrier that could stop patients getting the level of care that they require.
